This email follows the couple of conversations you and I have had over the past month about HCAGR and the creation of the Alexander Hamilton Institute.
I commend you, Hamilton's Professor Paquette, Peter Brown, and Ben Wu for your willingness to dedicate your respective time and resources to these efforts. As I previously communicated to Ben Wu, my disgust with what's happened at Hamilton in the past decade is not so much based on an affront to my core beliefs as it is the apparent devaluation by Hamilton of its core beliefs. I see the formation of the Institute, and the running of Trustee candidates like Wu and your brother, as steps towards assisting Hamilton back towards its traditional core values and teachings.
To that end, I'm pledging to HCAGR the sum of $5,000.00, payable over two years. Obviously, that's a sum of money that will not be going to Hamilton College over the next two years. I envision this money going towards the establishment of the Institute, assuming all proper organizational issues and financial controls are in place and operational.
By copy of this email to a number of my classmates and fraternity brothers, I'm encouraging them to take the time to visit your website, www.hcagr.squarespace.com, and learn more about HCAGR and the AH Institute. Hopefully, they, in turn, will appreciate the spirit and intent of HCAGR, and will spread the word.
Best Regards,
Chip Greene
